Volunteer Translator Team

Role

Use your language fluency to create subtitles for as many freequesting.info videos as possible.

*Experienced Spanish Translators Needed!*

Fluent Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, and Vietnamese Translators Wanted!

Please only consider applying if you are fluent in Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, or Vietnamese, and have experience translating. Otherwise, consider passing this opportunity on to someone who may be interested!

Requirements

  • High attention to detail
  • Must be regularly active throughout each month
  • Fluency in English and one or more other languages
  • Experienced in translating
  • Must have a Google account
  • Access to a computer and internet

Responsibilities

  • Translate English subtitles into other languages for as many videos as possible, based on video priority
  • Actively engage with the team leader on the project management tool
  • Respond to assignments and communication in a timely manner

Chinese Social Media Assistant

Role

Support our social media presence in China through translating, editing content, answering questions from users, and working with our Chinese Social Media Manager on various tasks.

Please only consider applying if you are fluent in Simplified Chinese and have experience translating from English to Simplified Chinese.

  • Fluency in English and Simplified Chinese
  • Medical and/or background preferred
  • Must be regularly active throughout each month
  • Experienced in translating
  • Access to a computer and internet
  • Chinese social media platform experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Translate English content into Simplified Chinese
  • Edit Simplified Chinese translations
  • Respond to assignments and communication in a timely manner

We’re glad you asked! Below, you can find a list of things you can do at any time to help spread the evidence-based word and help make the world a healthier place!

  • Want to fill your friends and family in on the latest research of a particular disease or topic? Share one of our curated YouTube playlists. Or you can create a playlist of your favorite videos to share.
  • Check out our new Evidence-Based Eating Guide and share with others to help make the switch to a healthier lifestyle more simple.
  • If you own a copy of How Not to Die or the How Not to Die Cookbook, take a creative photo of it (or with it!) and share it on social media with the hashtag #HowNotToDie.
  • Has evidence-based eating changed your life? Share your journey with us.
  • Invite at least one person to sign up for the freequesting.info Newsletter. They’ll receive a free recipe from the How Not to Die Cookbook!
  • Add a link to freequesting.info in your email signature. Whenever you send an email, there will be an opportunity to invite someone new!
    Example: Check out freequesting.info for the latest in research!
  • Order an Outreach Poster and get permission to post it in a public place where lots of people will see it. Or you can order Outreach Cards and hand them out to people who are interested in learning more.
  • Ask your friends on social media if they would like to borrow your copy of How Not to Die. Make sure you get it back!
  • Call your local library or health food store and ask if they can carry How Not to Die or the How Not to Die Cookbook if they don’t already. You can also consider donating a used copy to your local community library.
  • Tell your friends and family about our free Daily Dozen App and share our video about it to support healthy habits. Available now on Apple and Android devices.
  • Share one of our daily videos on Facebook. Videos are posted and playable directly on our Facebook on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with English and Spanish subtitles.
  • Suggest to your favorite local restaurant to carry How Not to Die or the How Not to Die Cookbook if they carry other books. If they agree to do it, send us a photo!
